Jeff Hick

Owner

Jeff is a retired fire officer, having spent 30 years in Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service, rising to a senior rank dealing with all aspects of fire safety as well as commanding serious operational incidents.

He started Fire Safety Cornwall in 2005, with the aim of using his experience to provide Cornish businesses with up-to-date fire safety information to enable them to comply with the latest regulations.

Gavin Bendle

Team Member

Gavin joined the company in 2022 and brings 25 years' experience in business management and development.

He recently achieved his NEBOSH certificate in fire safety qualification, alongside his PAT certification.

Gavin delivers the portable equipment testing.

Terry Nottle

Team Member

Terry joined us in September 2022 after 30 years with Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service. He held various operational and fire safety roles, finally managing fire safety in East Cornwall.

He developed the Primary Authority Scheme working with businesses such as St Austell Brewery, Rick Stein, LiveWest to ensure effective fire safety management systems.

He is also a member of the IFE and an Engineering Technician registrant and working towards registration as a life safety fire risk assessor.

Team Member

Stewart joined us in 2021 after retiring from the Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service. He held various roles from Station Manager to Area Manager, Hazmat Officer and National Resilience Waste Fire Tactical Advisor

He is also a member of the IFE and a member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.

Gareth served for more than 30 years in Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service in numerous operational and fire safety roles, including as an enforcement officer. Since leaving the Fire and Rescue Service he worked as an enforcement officer in the licensing department of Cornwall Council. He joined Jeff in early days of the company, carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and has been instrumental in helping to build the business.

Gareth is a member of IFE and qualified Fire Risk Assessor with NEBOSH.
